Are We in the Final Generation? ~ Bible Prophecy Today

Are We in the Final Generation? ~ Bible Prophecy Today

By Hal Lindsey

It is difficult for me to deal with most people who write articles about the "Late Great Planet Earth". I am so fed-up with being mis-quoted about Matthew 24:34. So here is what I actually did say and what I meant about the passage of Matthew 24:32-34.

On page 54 of the LGPE, I wrote,
"What generation? Obviously, in context, the generation that would see the signs - chief among them the rebirth of the State of Israel. A generation in the Bible is something like forty years. IF this is a correct deduction, then within forty years or so of 1948, all these things could take place."
I underlined the subjective mood of the statements to emphasize that I DID NOT say "all these things will take place within 40 years of Israel's rebirth." All of the qualifications I gave in this passage were designed to convey that I was by no means certain of the deduction. But who ever takes note of that. Most people that believe that I said Christ would return within 40 years of Israel's rebirth and that a generation could only be 40 years did not read my actual statement. I am shocked that even a friend like Tim LaHaye apparently did not read it.

In consequent studies, I have come to believe that I missed a very important word in this verse that gives perimeters as to what kind of generation Jesus had in mind. It is the average life span of those who are in the generation to which He pointed. Jesus said,
"This generation will not pass away until all these things take place."
In other words, the generation that witnesses the coming together of all the signs given in the Olivet Discourse will not die before they are all fulfilled.

I believe we are in the generation that will live to see the fulfillment of the "birth pangs" that Jesus predicted would all come together in one time frame shortly before the Tribulations events that bring about His return. I have never believed that the precise day or hour could be known. But I do believe that Jesus commanded for us to know the general time. Otherwise, what was the point of giving signs that would indicate His coming was near? Jesus actually commanded us to learn the signs of His return by commanding us to learn the parable of the fig tree. In Matthew 24:32, Jesus said, "Now learn the parable of the fig tree ..." The verb "learn" is in the imperative mood, which means it is a command, not something optional. Jesus continued,
"... When its branch has already become tender and puts forth leaves, you know that summer is near. So you also, when you see ALL these things, KNOW that it is near - at the doors."
The verb "know" or "recognize" is also in the imperative mood in the Greek, which means it is a command.

In summary, just as the first leaves of the fig tree indicate that the general time Summer is near, even so the appearance of all the predicted signs in concert within one time period appear, it indicates that the general time of Christ's coming is near. And we are all commanded to "recognize" that His coming is near by the imperative mood verb of this Scripture.

I believe the signs I wrote about in the Late Great Planet Earth are still valid. In fact, more so now than ever.

Will the Iran Revolution Fail?

Subject: Will the Iran Revolution Fail?

Date: Tuesday, June 23, 2009, 7:15 AM

The Iranian revolution unfortunately will probably fail because the of the complete misunderstanding of the Middle East mindset.

This has caused foreign policies of the West that have been based on a false premise, serving its so called perceived interests that also encompass UN corruption, stability of oil supplies and a failure to understand the domination of Islam in the Middle East.

George W. Bush’s policy of encouraging democracy in the Middle East was well intended but misguided and the current policy of appeasement by President Barack Obama while at the same time deliberately finding problems with a real democracy and ally Israel is equally flawed.

The West has had two main issues with the Middle East that it always fails to understand through a combination of greed and ignorance of the Islamic culture.

The Arab and especially the Islamic culture are based on pride and shame.
Islam shuns freedom and democracy;

Sharia law is all encompassing in the Middle East and cannot be compatible with a free open democratic society

Islam is a political and constitutional government subservient to no other government system.

Its objective is world domination like Nazism but worse because God told them to do it, not Hitler.

The Western government foreign ministries and the US State department have always chosen to ignore there own so-called values (freedom and democracy) when coming to do business with Middle Eastern leaders

We hypocritically are willing to ruin the environment in the Middle East but here in America we feign environmental responsibility by vilifying oil companies and stop them for drilling and the exploitation of fossil fuels.
America could easily be self sufficient in energy as well as pursuing better environmental alternatives, which in effect would strengthen our moral positions when it comes to dealing with Middle Eastern tyrants.

Oil companies have also played an immoral card too but that is for another article.

So what is the best policy to solve the Middle East problem?
It is very easy, ignore and isolate them.

Because we depend on their oil we currently cannot ignore them but must engage and continue to patch our relationships with questionable allies and we reason with our enemies which now is President Obama’s new policy.

So we must do the opposite and start now to be serious about developing our own sources of fossil fuels which we definitely have and at the same time develop technologies of alternatives energy, as well as technologies that use existing fossil fuel supplies more efficiently.

If we were self sufficient in fossil fuels we could tell the Saudis to whistle Dixie, provide unqualified support for Israel our ally, without having to accommodate “the Palestinian propaganda lie, ” which we do in order to curry favor with the Arab tyrant.

For the potential revolution in Iran to succeed with a more friendly government to the US and the West, as well as a dismantling of their desire to acquire nuclear weapons is a potential windfall to save Israel and the US from a military confrontation;

this can only succeed with major united stand from the Western leaders. Unfortunately the US administration is failing to take the opportunity to exploit fully the overthrow of the mad Mullahs of Iran.

Just like George Bush Senior who formed a coalition of nations outside the UN to defeat the Saddam Hussein in the first Gulf War, so should the current president form a large coalition of countries

willing to place major diplomatic pressure on the Mullahs to step down and to even place troops from the USA on Iraqi boarder as well as Afghan border which will alarm the Mullahs.

A major gambit is now required that the political climate in Iran dictates.

Unfortunately the US government will appease and stand off allowing the Mullahs to crack down on the protestors who will give up in a few weeks when the West

as usual fails to take advantage of the situation and we return to the game of chicken with President Ahmajinadad.

The weakness of the West compares exactly to the 1930s.

We will suffer great long term repercussions based on our failure to act upon this opportunity.

Fear to act boldly always emboldens the enemy to be even more aggressive., any student of history can tell you that.

Does Israel Have Rights?

By Hal Lindsey

At a time when President Obama is trying to force Israel into a disastrous agreement with the Palestinians, who will not even agree that Israel has a right to be a State, it is time for Christians to speak out. The nations are sacrificing Israel in order to keep secure the favor of their oil-supplying Muslim oil barons. Last week, the UN Foreign Policy chief, Javier Solana, went a step too far. He had the audacity to propose that the United Nations unilaterally declare a Palestinian State. That is a complete betrayal of the founding purposes on which the UN was created.

I believe that Israel has the right to build anywhere in greater Israel. The Muslim nations of the Middle East attacked them in June 1967 in an effort to annihilate them. Israel begged Jordan, who controlled the West Bank and Jerusalem, not to join the other Muslim forces and promised them that they would not attack them. Jordan did and Israel quickly defeated them and captured the West Bank and Jerusalem. So since then, the so-called West Bank and East Jerusalem has been part of Israel by right of self-defense and conquest.

This same right of ownership by conquest underlies virtually every Nation in the world today. If you will trace back to their beginning, every Nation was founded upon land gained by conquest. The United States of America certainly is founded on that premise. We took land from the Indians, Mexicans, French and English. And we have the unquestioned right to keep it. So do the Israelis.

However, there is a different set of rules the world wants to force upon Israel. In the case of the U.S. in particular and the Western Nations in general, we are presently much more concerned about keeping the oil supplying Muslim oil barons happy than we are about backing Israel's just rights as a sovereign nation. And this is before we even get to the issue of their solemn God-given Covenant in which God gave them the title deed to specific land to which He has returned them from a worldwide dispersion according to His promise.

Israel is the only nation on earth that has a title deed to their land from the Creator. And the Creator has sworn on oath that He will see that a believing remnant of Israel will have a nation on this land forever. And God has warned that all peoples that try to take it from them will be destroyed. These are promises that are in many passages of the Word of God - not just in a few. So President Obama beware - as well as all the Muslim nations seeking to annihilate Israel!

For the LORD has sworn:

Thus says the LORD, Who gives the sun for a light by day, The ordinances of the moon and the stars for a light by night, Who disturbs the sea, And its waves roar (The LORD of hosts is His name): " If those ordinances depart From before Me, says the LORD, THEN THE SEED OF ISRAEL SHALL ALSO CEASE FROM BEING A NATION BEFORE ME FOREVER. Thus says the LORD: " If heaven above can be measured, And the foundations of the earth searched out beneath, I will also cast off all the seed of Israel For all that they have done, says the LORD." (Jeremiah 31:35-37)
Since the sun, moon and stars are still in their prescribed orbit and purpose, I declare Israel still has the right to exist as a Jewish State. Selah!

ABC TV USA: 1st ever Khilafah Conference USA (2009) News report piece

The call for jihad and seditious takeover of the United States by Islam was made loud and clear yesterday in Chicago. The fundamentalist Islamic political party known as Hizb ut-Tahrir (America), or HTA, hosted a conference at the Hilton Hotel in the Chicago suburb of Oak Lawn yesterday. The attendees, dressed in traditional Muslim attire, were segregated by gender according to the oppressive tenets of fundamentalist Islam. The women in attendance were covered from head to toe in fundamentalist Islamic attire, sat away from the men during the presentations.

Fate of the Muslims

By Dr. David R. Reagan

What is the fate of the Muslims as it is revealed in end-time Bible prophecy?

Let's consider for a moment the fate of the Muslims as it is revealed in End Time Bible prophecy. The Bible prophesies that God will pour out judgment upon the Arab nations in the end times for their hostility towards the Jews and their attempt to claim the Jewish homeland as their own.

Consider Joel 3:19 for example, this passage has a clear end-time context and in that context it says, "Egypt will become a waste and Edom will become a desolate wilderness because of the violence done to the sons of Judah in whose land they have shed innocent blood." Keep in mind that "Edom" is often used as a symbolic term for all the Arab peoples, just as "Israel" is used as a term for all the Jewish tribes.

Ezekiel says that all of Edom will be dealt with in the end times because of its hatred against the Jews and its lust for their land. The result will be the desolation of the Arab states.

The book of Obadiah prophesies a similar fate for Edom in the Day of the Lord. Part of this destruction is going to take place in the wars of Psalm 83 and Ezekiel 38, most likely before the Tribulation begins. Psalm 83 indicates that Israel will defeat the inner ring of Arab nations that have a common border with it. Ezekiel 38 states that God will supernaturally destroy the outer ring of Arab nations that will invade Israel under the leadership of the Russians.

But, these wars affect only the nations in the Middle East. The vast majority of Muslims live in nations outside the Middle East. I believe the Muslims in other parts of the world like Pakistan, Bangladesh, India and Indonesia will taste the wrath of God at the beginning of the Tribulation when they refuse to accept the European Antichrist. They will become the focus of the Antichrist military actions to subdue all the world to his authority. The book of Revelation states that one-fourth of humanity will die in the initial military campaign of the Antichrist — that is one and a half billion people in today's terms! Then we are told the war will expand into what appears as a nuclear holocaust and during this second phase one-third of those remaining will die. That is another one and a half billion! So, a total of three billion people are going to be killed in the wars of the Antichrist during the first half of the Tribulation. I believe that most of these will be Muslims.

But, the future of the Arabs is not all bleak. They must suffer for their sins, just like the Jewish people will suffer during the Tribulation. And like the Jews, we are told in Jeremiah 12 that a remnant of the Arabs will emerge from their suffering with their hearts turned to the one and only true God. The Bible says in Zechariah 2:8, "that the Jewish people are the apple of God's eye." But, that does not mean that He has no love for their cousins the Arabs. Just as God has covenants with the Jews, He has a covenant with the Arab peoples. It can be found in Genesis 16 and 17. In this covenant God promised to make the decendents of Ishmael (the Arabs) a great nation and to give them all the land to the east of their Jewish brethren. God has been faithful to those promises. Today there are 22 Arab nations with a combined population of over 300 million people. The Arabs occupy a total area of 5.3 million square miles of oil rich land. By contrast, there is only one Jewish state with a population of only 5 million Jews who are squeezed into only 8,000 square miles of space. That is a population ratio of 58:1 and the land ratio of 662:1! The Arabs have truly been blessed.

There is no partiality with God. He chose the Jews not to be a repository of His blessings, but to be a vehicle through whom He would bless all the nations of the world, including the Arabs. But, the fundamental requirement to receive God's blessings for both Jew and Arab as well as all people is to accept God's gift of love in Jesus by receiving Him as Messiah.

When I consider the blessings that God has given the Arab peoples and the grace He is going to show them in the future despite their persecution of His chosen people, I am reminded of what Paul wrote when he considered God's grace towards his Jewish brethren. He cried out from his heart, "Oh the depth of the riches, both of the wisdom and knowledge of God, how unsearchable are His judgments and unfathomable His ways."
